CampMatch Privacy Policy
CampMatch Privacy Policy
Effective Date: May 10, 2026
Last Updated: May 10, 2026
CampMatch is designed to help parents and guardians privately coordinate summer camps, activities, and schedules with trusted families. Privacy is central to the product. CampMatch is not a public directory of children, families, or camp attendance.
This Privacy Policy explains how CampMatch collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website, mobile applications, and related services.
For purposes of this policy, "CampMatch," "we," "us," and "our" refer to CampMatch. "You" refers to the parent, guardian, or other adult using CampMatch.
1. Our Privacy Promise
CampMatch is built around a few simple principles:
Private groups only: Groups are invite-only and accessible only to authenticated members.
Explicit opt-in sharing: By default, your child's camp plans are not broadly shared. You choose what to share, for each child and each group.
No public indexing: Parent, child, camp plan, and group information is not intended to be publicly listed, searchable, or exposed to search engines.
No data selling: We do not sell parent or child personal information to advertisers, brokers, or other third parties.
2. CampMatch Is for Parents, Not Children
CampMatch is intended for use by parents, guardians, and other adults. Children are not intended to create accounts or use CampMatch directly.
Parents and guardians may create child profiles and add child-related camp planning information, such as a child's first name, grade, age range, camp sessions, interest status, and attendance plans.
CampMatch is not directed to children under 13. COPPA applies to online services directed to children under 13 or services that have actual knowledge they are collecting personal information directly from children under 13.
If we learn that a child has created an account or submitted personal information directly to CampMatch, we will take appropriate steps to delete that information.
3. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide, information generated through your use of CampMatch, and limited technical information.
Account Information: We may collect name, email address, login/authentication information, account settings, and communication preferences.
Child Profile Information: When you create a child profile, we may collect child first name, child last name or initial if you provide it, age, grade, or age range, camp interests, camp enrollment status, waitlist status, application status, notes you choose to enter, and group-sharing preferences.
You should only add information about children for whom you are the parent, guardian, or otherwise authorized adult.
Camp Planning Information: We may collect information about camps you search for, save, or add; camp sessions, dates, locations, and registration links; whether a child is enrolled, interested, waitlisted, applied, or not going; notes or reminders you choose to add; and historical or past camp participation.
Connection and Group Information: We may collect parent-to-parent connections, group memberships, group invitations, invite status, shared child/camp session visibility settings, and connected-family overlap signals, such as which children are attending the same camp session, where sharing has been enabled.
Communications: We may collect information related to invitations sent through CampMatch, email notifications, support requests, feedback you submit, and administrative messages.
Technical and Usage Information: We may collect limited technical information, such as device type, browser type, operating system, IP address, log data, pages viewed, features used, error reports, approximate location derived from IP address, and cookies or similar technologies.
We use this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve CampMatch.
AI Assistant Inputs: If CampMatch includes an AI-powered camp assistant, we may process the text you enter to provide camp recommendations, search support, or planning help.
You should not enter sensitive information into the AI assistant unless necessary for the request. We do not intentionally use child profile data for AI processing unless the feature requires it and the use is disclosed in the product experience.
4. How We Use Information
We use information to create and manage your account, help you organize camp plans, show camp overlap with families you choose to connect with, enable private group coordination, send invitations and notifications, display child-specific camp schedules to you and authorized shared groups, recommend camps or help with camp discovery, maintain safety, security, and fraud prevention, debug errors and improve product performance, respond to support requests, comply with legal obligations, and enforce our terms and policies.
We do not use parent or child personal information to build public profiles.
5. How Sharing Works Inside CampMatch
CampMatch is designed around parent-controlled sharing.
By Default: Your child's camp information is private unless you choose to share it.
Parent Connections: If you connect with another parent, they may see limited information you choose to share, such as overlapping camp attendance or shared group activity.
Groups: If you join or create a group, you choose which child and camp session information to share with that group. Other members of that group may be able to see shared information, such as child first name, camp name, camp session dates, and attendance status, such as enrolled, interested, waitlisted, or applied.
Invitations: If you invite another parent, we may use their email address to send the invitation. We do not use invited-parent email addresses for unrelated marketing.
Administrative Access: Authorized CampMatch administrators may access account, child, camp, group, and system information as needed to operate, secure, support, and troubleshoot the service.
6. Information We Share With Service Providers
We use trusted service providers to operate CampMatch. These providers may process information on our behalf.
Examples may include hosting and application infrastructure providers, database and authentication providers, email delivery providers, analytics and error monitoring providers, customer support tools, AI service providers if AI features are enabled, and payment processors if paid features are introduced.
These providers are permitted to use information only as necessary to provide services to CampMatch or as otherwise allowed by law.
7. Advertising, Analytics, and Data Selling
CampMatch does not sell parent or child personal information.
CampMatch does not knowingly sell or share personal information of children for targeted advertising. California law requires affirmative authorization before selling personal information of children under 16, with parental opt-in required for children under 13.
If CampMatch introduces advertising, sponsored listings, analytics, or partner features, we will update this policy and provide any required notices or choices.
We may use limited analytics to understand product usage, improve features, detect errors, and maintain security.
8. Cookies and Similar Technologies
CampMatch may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, maintain security, understand usage patterns, improve performance, and troubleshoot errors.
You can adjust cookie settings through your browser, but some features may not work properly if cookies are disabled.
9. Data Retention
We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide CampMatch, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain security, and support legitimate business purposes.
You may request deletion of your account or child profile information. After deletion, some information may remain for a limited period in backups, logs, audit records, or legal compliance systems.
10. Your Choices and Controls
You may be able to edit your account information, update or delete child profiles, add or remove camp sessions, change sharing settings by child, camp, or group, leave groups, remove parent connections, opt out of non-essential emails, request account deletion, and request correction of inaccurate information.
Some transactional messages, such as account, security, or invitation-related emails, may still be sent even if you opt out of marketing messages.
11. Children's Information and Parental Control
CampMatch gives parents and guardians control over child-related information.
Parents may create child profiles, decide what child information to enter, decide which camp sessions to add, decide whether to share information with a group, change sharing settings, delete child profiles or camp session information, and request deletion of child-related data.
CampMatch does not knowingly allow children to create accounts. If you believe a child has submitted personal information directly to CampMatch, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.
12. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. These may include authentication controls, access restrictions, encryption where appropriate, monitoring, and secure infrastructure practices.
No service can guarantee perfect security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for using CampMatch only with trusted groups and connections.
13. Data Location
CampMatch may process and store information in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate. By using CampMatch, you understand that information may be processed outside your state or country of residence.
14. State Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of certain personal information, or to opt out of certain uses of personal information.
To exercise privacy rights, contact us using the information below. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
We do not discriminate against users for exercising privacy rights.
15. App Store and Mobile App Privacy
If you access CampMatch through a mobile app, the app store may require additional privacy disclosures, including information about data collected by CampMatch and third-party partners. Apple requires developers to identify data collected by the app and third-party partners and keep those disclosures accurate.
The disclosures shown in an app store listing are intended to supplement, not replace, this Privacy Policy.
16. Third-Party Links and Camps
CampMatch may include links to camp websites, registration platforms, payment pages, maps, or other third-party services.
CampMatch is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party camps, websites, or services. You should review their privacy policies before submitting information to them.
17. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date and may provide additional notice, such as through the app or by email.
Your continued use of CampMatch after an updated policy becomes effective means you accept the updated policy.
